It doesn’t matter if your child is confirmed as neurodivergent, identifies as such, or you simply assume they are… they deserve to be empowered to be happiest, best version of themselves they can be.
But meltdowns, aggression, violence, shutdowns, and behavioural problems are just part of neurodivergence, right?
No. Not necessarily.
What society perceives as traits of varying neurodivergencies, like these sad and angry displays, are presentations of a neurodivergent person in distress. While is isn’t always possible to repair all the hurt, and prevent all the distress, so much can be done to reduce the impact the world is having on your child, and your child’s distress is having on them and those around them.
I can help you figure out what the problems are (though you can probably tell me this yourself!), the causes, the need being communicated, and how to make it easier. We can work together to help your child thrive through:
